Chevrolet Chassis Cabs, Cutaways & Upfit Trucks in Rockland, Maine

Builders, landscapers, boatyards and town crews across Knox County - Rockland, Rockport, Thomaston, Owls Head and Warren - rely on trucks built to carry a body. A Silverado 3500 HD Chassis Cab or Express Cutaway gives you a cab on a rated frame, so the back is whatever the job needs: a service body, a dump, a box for deliveries or a stake body for stone and lumber.

Across Quirk Chevrolet's inventory you will find chassis both bare and already bodied, including Knapheide service bodies, Reading dump and service bodies and Unicell stake bodies - with Rockland's trucks listed first when you shop.

If a pickup suits the work better, Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks take service bodies and BOSS snowplows, the Silverado EV Work Truck tows up to 12,500 lbs, and Tahoe and Suburban move crews and gear between sites. Describe the job and our Business Elite team will recommend the truck, the cab-to-axle and the body.

Chassis Cabs & Upfits FAQs

How is a chassis cab different from a cutaway?

A chassis cab is a pickup cab on a bare frame - the Silverado 3500 HD Chassis Cab. A cutaway is a van front on a bare frame - the Express Cutaway - and is the common base for box and cube bodies you can reach from the cab. Both are built to carry a body behind the cab.

What does cab-to-axle mean for my body?

It is the distance from the back of the cab to the center of the rear axle, and it sets which body lengths fit. Regular Cab Silverado chassis cabs come in 60 or 84.5 inches. Pick the body, then the chassis, and we will confirm the match with the body builder before you order.

Should I order the Power Take-Off package?

Yes, if the body has hydraulics - a dump hoist, a crane or a heavy liftgate - and order it with the truck. A plain service body or flatbed with no moving parts doesn't need it.

Is the body covered under the Chevrolet warranty?

Chevrolet notes that equipment from independent suppliers is not covered by the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty; the body maker - Knapheide, Reading, Unicell and others - covers its own work. Ask us who services that body near the Midcoast before you buy.

Program benefits and incentives are set by the manufacturer and are subject to change and eligibility. Business Choice allowances apply to eligible Chevrolet Accessories, vehicles and business customers only. Equipment from independent suppliers is not covered by the GM New Vehicle Limited Warranty. GM is not responsible for the safety or quality of independent supplier alterations. Towing, payload and GVWR figures are maximums for properly equipped vehicles; ratings for a specific vehicle depend on its configuration. Tax information is general - consult your tax advisor.
